SUYS: Weekly Update! 9/18/15!

September 18th, 2015

Good Day to all our intrepid readers out there! It's the Shut Up Yo Weekly Update! What have we been up to this week? FIND OUT NOW!

We are awash in comics these last two weeks! We have Jade Ashley here again with another comic review!

"This week I’ve got another Image comics title for you! Rat Queens by Kurtis J. Wiebe and Roc Upchurch is incredibly unique and totally rad. Betty, Hannah, Dee, and Violet make up the badass merc-for-hire group known as the Rat Queens. They, along with other merc-for-hire groups, get sent out on missions to protect their town and it’s surrounding areas from goblins, trolls, monsters, and whatever threatening entity that’s lurking around. Known to cause a little havoc themselves, the villagers haven’t taken too fondly to the Rat Queens. Trouble arises when all the mercenary groups get sent out on

rigged missions, not met by who they thought they were going to be fighting, but by a group that tries to kill them all off. The Rat Queens are having none of that and take matters into their own hands to try and figure out just who exactly is attempting to get rid of them.

What I love the most about Rat Queens is that it’s about a group of diverse women. Diverse in race, body type, and sexuality which is something that’s hard to come by in the world of comics. I loved the characterization of each of the girls. They all have such different personalities, but they mesh together so well. Not to mention, they’re absolutely hilarious and unapologetic in their crudeness. This book is a real treat. Rat Queens is really something spectacular. Hailed as IGN’s “Best New Series” of 2013, it certainly lives up to the title. Gorgeous, fantastic art, stellar writing and an awesome plot to boot, this is not one that you wanna miss. Rat Queens Volume 1 and 2 are available now!"

Thanks Jade!

Frank Mitchell has seen Sinister II, and has a question!

"Why would you show a well-lit villain and expect us to be afraid of him?"

Tweet @fforfmitty and tell him why!

That's all for now! Stay tuned for our latest Mitchoy Chats, where we discuss the late, great Wes Craven!

Have a great week, and Stay Tuned!
