SUYS: Weekly Update! 6/12/15

June 12th, 2015

Everyone sing it with me! 'It's the Shut Up Yo! Weekly Update! Ya da dat dat, Ya dat dat dat! It's The Shut Up Yo Weekly Update!' No? Not diggin the song? That's ok, cause we got a bunch of news for you! The people!

First up is Eric Coomber with an update on the New 'Legend of Zelda' for Nintendo's 'Wii U'

"At first I was going to write about Jurassic World (I’m excited for it). Then I was going to write about Jurassic Park III (I somehow enjoy it). The other night, it changed to the mobile game Ridiculous Fishing (you should buy it). Instead, I’m going to talk about the upcoming Legend of Zelda game, which is currently only known as The Legend of Zelda for Wii U, or just Zelda U. What we know about it is that it’s going to be a bit more open world styled than the previous games, in that this time you probably won’t necessarily need to go from one specific dungeon to another in order to advance. The teaser trailer shown at last year’s E3 (made using in-engine footage) shows that the game will be bright and cell-shaded for its art-style: somewhat of a combination between the Wind Waker and Skyward Sword. Lastly and unfortunately, we know that the game has been delayed; however, the Eiji Aonuma has stated that this is due to the development team discovering new things while testing the game and then taking the time to actually implement the features to make a more complete game. To be honest, I’m perfectly fine with them taking more time to add some good ol’ Nintendo Polish to it, so long as that’s actually why the project is being delayed. Still, my fingers are crossed that we’ll get a better preview in the coming weeks at E3 2015, even though Nintendo has said it will not be. Sometimes rumors are a good thing, so here’s hoping it’s true!"

With any luck you'll be able to pick up your copy of 'Zelda U' in 2016!

We also have Michael J. 'TUNA' Foy with the movie news roudup!

“Hey everyone! There has been a ton of movie news lately and I want to a moment to talk about a few of them. (I’ll have a review of ‘Jurassic World’ after I see it tomorrow!) First up there’s Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson saying he wants to star in a remake of ‘Big Trouble in Little China’, with John Carpenter involved to some capacity. Although there is no script yet, I’m still worried about this one. Not sure if the film can be remade period, let alone with The Rock at it’s center. I don’t hate him as an actor, but he’s got some insanely huge shoes to fill. More to come on this as it develops. In the mean time, get your ‘Big Trouble’ fix with BOOM-Studios sequel comic, co-produced by John Carpenter himself!

Next up there’s the new Lifetime Original Movie, ‘Deadly Adoption’. For the network’s 25th anniversary, they produced a spoof of one of their own films! Starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig as a couple taking care of young women, they plan to adopt her unborn child when something goes horribly wrong. Not sure what to make of it yet, but this could be pretty damn funny. The movie will premiere on Lifetime June 20th!

And finally we have Bill Murray’s new film ‘Rock the Kasbah’. Murray plays a down on his luck manager on the road, with one of his acts overseas. Stranded in Afghanistan without a passport, he discovers an amazing young talent in search of a way to perform. From the trailer it looks like it may be quite funny and certainly touching. I’ll certainly check it out when it’s released later this fall. Check out the trailer HERE!"
