Hello internet and Happy Friday! The good people at Shut Up Yo Studios have returned with a few quick articles about what’s on their minds!

First up we have our good friend and Shut Up Yo Studios contributor Mackenzie Portfolio with her thoughts on the upcoming Suicide Squad.

“The Internet has been buzzing these past few weeks about the upcoming DC film Suicide Squad. Written and directed by David Ayer (Fury, U-571, Training Day) Suicide Squad isn’t your typical superhero flick. This time it’s the supervillains who take the lead, performing high-risk government missions in exchange for decreased prison sentences. You scratch my back I’ll scratch yours type of deal… except don’t scratch too hard or you’re back in the slammer. It features an exciting array of characters, most notably Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). Recently photos have been both released and leaked from set that are only titillating our pallet. But much like that Tinder date where you shaved, bought her flowers, and dinner, girlfriend doesn’t return the favor…The movie doesn’t even come out until NEXT year and already they’re releasing photos?! C’mon… I will admit though when I first heard about the movie I was totally “meh” about it. But after seeing the photos it’s peaked my interest. Jared Leto’s version of the Joker isn’t what you might expect but in all fairness he has big shoes to fill coming after Heath Ledger’s performance (pour one out for my homie). And despite it being over a year away it’s got us finally talking about the film! Check the photos out for yourself and post your thoughts in the comments below. AND we also have a report from Shut Up Yo Studios Co-Founder Michael J. Foy who is currently out on assignment in Pittsburgh!

“Greetings from Pittsburgh! Perhaps you’re wondering why I’m here, or perhaps you have no idea where I live and this seems super random. Well, I’m here for the International Science and Engineering Fair! This is my seventh year volunteering with the great people from Society for Science and the Public (based out of Washington D.C.) and the many other wonderful organizations that help make this whole thing happen. The fair takes place in a different city each year in the U.S. with high school kids from all around the world who have already won school, county and state fairs. This year a record 1,700 kids will be participating to win up to $75,000! With a total of twenty categories, there are always interesting projects to check out. One year for example, a student rewired Nintendo’s old Power Glove to control a robot he created! (Best use of the Power Glove ever!) It’s a really amazing fair that helps to remind us all that there are kids out there looking to better the world around us, not just play XBox all day. Just about the only thing that could make this any better would be if Bill Nye the Science Guy would show up. (Conan O’Brien did a segment for his show at my first fair in 2009!) Bill, may I call you Bill? You should come on out and support the young scientific minds of the future at the Intel ISEF! Also, bring your good friend Neil Tyson, cause I totally want to meet you both…. and I’m sure the kids would love it too...”
